Lots of funny stage banter on this show too. Check out the exchange following Friend Of The Devil when Jerry tells Bear "you'd think after five years you'd have an ear!" and the exchange after Dire Wolf, "Don't mutter man, don't mutter!" Bear: "Well I've got a vague whatever" Jerry: There it is man, 'a vague whatever'! Bobby: "How can ya hate a guy like that?"
These were Bear's last recordings before checking into prison to serve time on drug convictions.

Thanks! I'm always looking for good 70's and 71's: those years seem to be the most uneven, but the most rewarding if you find the right show...

Being lazy and using "This day in History" approach certainly uncovers a gem once in a while - I wish there were a full AUD of this show at the Archive. This is one I'd like to DL.

I don't really consider that to be laziness... there's so many shows, it's as good a system as any for untangling the good from the bad...

and this is one of them.
Listening to it now.

On a personal note, for me overall '70 was quite a mellow, eventful, great year.

'71 (for me) was much more uneven, and was the end of an era - (Fillmore West closed and I graduated from Lowell HS).

In the attached pic, the one on on the left, that's me in '71. (the other is from '63 - yow!)
